At MP, what types of hair transplants do we perform? What are the differences, what is appropriate, and which type is right for us?

All techniques used at MP are harvesting grafts (Harvesting) using the FUE method or harvesting one graft/hair clump at a time. After that, the hair clumps are transplanted (Transplantation) using the DHI method or using a transplanting pen . If we follow up and see the results when the hair grows for 4-5 months, they will be the same.

Another thing to consider is the purpose of the hair transplant: is it to treat baldness or is it for cosmetic surgery to reshape the face? This will affect the choice.

But the difference that customers can choose is the haircut/shave, which has 3 types.

1. Shaving the entire head or Shave Technique . This technique involves cutting the entire head. This technique is suitable for men who need to treat baldness by hair transplantation, which tends to require a large number of grafts, starting from 2000 grafts or more. The advantage of this technique is that it is easy to maintain cleanliness and can transplant a large amount of hair.

2. Partial shaving, or Non-Shave Technique , involves shaving the hair at the back of the neck, where the hair is kept. The hair at the front and center of the head is retained. The principle is that after the transplant, we wash, blow dry, and cover the front of the head with hair. The back of the head is then covered with a small amount of gauze. For women, the remaining hair is used to cover the hair, so the transplant is invisible. It should be noted that this method is another option suitable for both men and women, as it allows for a large number of grafts, typically around 2,000, and allows the original hair to be used to conceal the front of the head. This allows for a normal life, and the cost is relatively lower than the long-hair technique.

3. Long Hair Transplantation or Long Hair DHI

In this method, there is no hair cutting. The hair is harvested along with the entire length. After the hair transplant, the hair will be the same length, without any scars, so no one will know that we had a hair transplant. This method is suitable for those who need to maintain their image all the time, do not have time to recover or wait for their hair to grow, and those who do not want to cut their hair. However, this method still has limitations: even long hair that is transplanted will still fall out in the same manner as a short hair transplant. You have to wait for the hair roots to grow new hair first. This technique takes a relatively long time, making it not suitable for hair transplants that require more than 1,500 grafts.
