Hair Detox – Scalp Detox and Balancing Service

Hair Detox | Deep Scalp Cleansing & Scalp Balance

The scalp is the foundation of healthy hair. Every day it is exposed to oil, sweat, dust, pollution and residue from styling products. If it is not cleansed in a way that suits your scalp condition, it may feel greasy and uncomfortable, and some people may develop flaking or dandruff.

MP Clinic has therefore designed the Hair Detox service to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hair, using products chosen to suit each person’s scalp condition. It focuses on removing excess oil, dirt and residue that can build up during the day, so your scalp feels clean, fresh and more comfortable after the service.

Today, many people face an oily, itchy or flaky scalp, or general scalp discomfort, which may be related to many factors such as the weather, working outdoors, wearing a hat for long periods, using styling products or each person’s scalp condition.

MP Clinic has therefore developed the Hair Detox service, combining scalp cleansing with MP hair care products and Nizoral shampoo where appropriate, to support scalp balance.

Service Highlights

  • Cleanses the scalp and hair thoroughly
  • Helps remove excess oil and residue from the scalp
  • Suitable for people with an oily scalp, or mild dandruff and itching
  • Scalp care products chosen to suit each person’s skin condition and needs
  • Leaves the scalp feeling cleaner and more comfortable after the service

The Role of Nizoral Shampoo in Scalp Care

Nizoral is a medicated shampoo containing Ketoconazole, which has antifungal action against certain fungi and yeasts, and is used medically for dandruff and Seborrheic Dermatitis.

Using this product in Hair Detox therefore has to be considered for each individual. Not every client needs a medicated shampoo, and Hair Detox should not replace the diagnosis or treatment of scalp diseases.

Who Is Hair Detox For?

1. People with mild dandruff or flaking on the scalp

2. People who want extra scalp care

Who Is Hair Detox Not For?

1. People with open wounds or scalp abrasions should wait until the skin recovers

2. People with obvious inflammation, such as severe redness, swelling, heat, pain or pus, should have the cause checked before the service

3. People with severe itching or thick scales may have a skin condition that needs specific treatment, such as psoriasis or Seborrheic Dermatitis

4. People with a rash or a suspected product allergy should avoid products that may trigger symptoms and inform us of their allergy history before the service

Hair Detox Service Steps

1. Initial scalp assessment, asking about oiliness, dandruff, itching and product allergy history

2. Cleansing the scalp and hair

3. Applying a care product containing Ketoconazole as recommended

4. Rinsing the product out thoroughly to reduce the chance of irritation from residue

5. Aftercare advice on hair washing, product choice and a suitable care frequency for your scalp condition

Service duration: about 60 minutes per session, depending on hair length and thickness
Recommended frequency: about every 3 days, and not recommended more often as a routine, to avoid cleansing or using certain products more than necessary

FAQ

Hair Detox is a thorough scalp cleansing and care service that considers oiliness, residue and individual needs, with products chosen to suit you, while a regular hair wash usually focuses on everyday cleansing.
Not for everyone. If you wash your hair well and have no scalp problems, regular care may be enough.
“Detox” here means cleansing away oil, sweat, dirt and product residue. It does not mean removing toxins from the body or drawing toxins out of the hair follicles.
Frequency depends on how oily your scalp is, your skin condition and the products you use. You do not always need the service every 3 days. People with oily scalps may need to wash more often than people with dry scalps, but additional services should be based on need, not done as often as possible.
Not always. Itching can be caused by dandruff, dry skin, allergy or irritation from products, or certain skin diseases. More cleansing alone may not help, and can sometimes cause more irritation.
No. Nizoral contains Ketoconazole, which suits certain types of dandruff, but it should be used according to its indications, label and appropriate advice — not as a mandatory step in every service.
Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent that helps control certain yeasts associated with dandruff and Seborrheic Dermatitis, so it may help reduce related flaking and itching. However, it is not suitable for itching or flaking from every cause.
Some people may experience irritation or dryness. If you notice stinging, redness, more itching or a rash, stop using the suspected product and seek advice from a medical professional, especially if symptoms do not improve.
Hair Detox is not a direct treatment for hair loss, but it may help keep the scalp clean in people who also have oiliness or dandruff. If you have unusually heavy hair loss, the cause should be investigated, such as genetic hair loss, illness or other related factors.
You can wash your hair as needed for your scalp condition. If there are no specific instructions from your provider, choose a suitable shampoo, rinse thoroughly and avoid scratching your scalp hard.
The clean feeling and reduced greasiness may change after the first session, but controlling dandruff or scalp problems with specific causes may require ongoing product use and time to assess results, so the number of sessions should not be fixed for everyone.
Please tell us about any chemical treatments and your hair condition before the service, so we can choose suitable products and steps. If your scalp is irritated after a chemical treatment, postpone the service and have the symptoms assessed first.
